The Fastbraces® Timeline By Craig Goldin DDS on April 26, 2018

Young, attractive woman displaying her straight smileAre you unhappy with your smile due to crooked and protruding teeth, but are wary about undergoing traditional orthodontics? Your smile is a valuable asset to your overall appearance and well being, but we also understand that selecting the right treatment is just as important for your self-confidence and daily routine.

If you are looking for a quick and effective treatment, you may find Fastbraces® the right solution to achieving a straighter and more attractive smile. Our cosmetic dentists at Cosmetic Dentistry Institute offer quality dental care in a spa-like environment to create an excellent experience for our patients in the Troy, MI area.

Outlined below is the Fastbraces® timeline to help give you a better idea of what to expect and why it is a great choice for teenage and adult patients.

Selecting Your Dentist

The first step in your treatment timeline is finding a qualified and certified Fastbraces® provider, such as Dr. Craig Goldin, and scheduling an appointment. During your initial consultation, he will determine if you are a good candidate by performing a complete examination using state-of-the-art technology.

Fastbraces® can help address a variety of issues in teens and adults, such as crowded or gapped teeth and mild bite disorders. Dr. Goldin will fabricate a customized treatment plan that will meet your unique goals and desires. You will be given the opportunity to ask any questions and he will be able to give you an estimate on the treatment timeline.

Because of it’s unique technology, the Fastbraces® timeline can typically be measured in weeks rather than years.

Fastbraces® Application and Treatment

At a follow-up appointment, we will thoroughly clean and dry your teeth and apply your Fastbraces®. While traditional brackets are square in shape and take about two years to shift the teeth into their ideal positions, Fastbraces® technology uses triangular brackets placed further apart so that both the crown and root of the tooth can be moved simultaneously. This not only provides faster treatment, but less discomfort.

Depending on the severity of misalignment, your treatment will take anywhere from three to 12 months. Throughout this period, you will attend follow-up visits every four to six weeks so that the wires attaching the brackets can be tightened.

We will make sure you are progressing as desired and give you updates on how much longer treatment will take. In most cases, Fastbraces® can provide a straighter smile in half the time as traditional orthodontics.

Post-treatment Care

Once your teeth have been aligned, the braces are removed and you will be fitted with a retainer. To maintain your beautifully transformed smile, be sure to wear your retainer nightly or as directed. Patients who fail to wear their retainer will require re-treatment in the near future.
