A digital scan of your teeth will guide a computerized milling machine in creating your custom cap from a single block of specially selected porcelain. CEREC technology allows our dentists to treat the teeth, and then create and place porcelain dental crowns within a single appointment. This prevents the need for temporary crowns and saves you time in the long run.

A root canal infection can damage and weaken a tooth. After root canal therapy, our dentists can place a cap to lend strength and support to the tooth so it can withstand the daily pressure caused by chewing and biting.

If you are missing a single tooth, we can place a dental implant in the jawbone to replace the missing tooth's root. A single crown can then be secured to the dental implant, restoring the health and appearance of the smile.

If you suffer from extensive tooth decay or have large fillings that need replacement, a dental cap may be the best treatment option. Because a cap encases a tooth, it can provide support and help it maintain its structure.

Dental injuries such as a chipped tooth or fractured tooth can be treated with a dental cap. While small chips and cracks on the front teeth can be addressed with veneers, more extensive injuries require the use of crowns.
The Crown Procedure
Step-by-step
Thanks to our use of advanced technology, the entire treatment process can be completed in a single appointment, without the need for a temporary crown.
Day of Procedure
Local Anesthetic
To ensure your comfort, our dentist will administer local anesthetic to numb the treatment area. For patients undergoing multiple treatments or full mouth reconstruction, we also offer IV sedation.
Prepare the Tooth
Prior to placing a crown, we will remove any signs of decayed or infected tooth structure. We will also remove some tooth structure from the perimeter of the tooth to make room for the crown.
Digital Impressions and Design
Next, we will take digital impressions of the tooth and design a crown that offers a precise fit, restores the tooth, and looks natural. We can tailor the shade, size, and shape of the crown to complement your unique features and look as natural as possible.
Fabrication
While you wait in our office, we will fabricate the crown out of a single block of high quality dental porcelain. Because we craft the crown on the same day, there is no need for a temporary crown or second treatment appointment.
Placing the Custom Crown
The final step is to secure the custom crown to your tooth using strong and durable dental resin. With proper care, the dental crown and resin can last 15 years or more.
What Is the Cost of a Dental Crown?
The cost of crowns can vary greatly depending on the total amount of dental work needed. While some dental insurance providers will cover porcelain dental crowns, some others may not. We can work with you to help you understand the cost of your procedure and how to make it fit comfortably within your budget. We also accept financing to help patients cover the cost of dental crown treatment.
