DR. CRAIG GOLDIN: Unfortunately, at some time, patients may lose all or most of their teeth. If that happens, we can help them with regular dentures or partial dentures. The problem with dentures is once you've lost your teeth, you may continue to lose bone. That's why it's really wonderful if the patient can have implants placed. It helps maintain the bone that's there. To regain the quality of life that often a denture wearer may lose when they have dentures, mini implants, or traditional implants are often used to help hold the denture and stabilize the denture in the mouth. That is really an incredible, incredible way to help the patient regain their quality of life.
It's difficult wearing dentures, and dental implants really are a wonderful way to help maintain those. We have two types, whether they're traditional implants, which are a little larger, or mini implants that may be adequate to help maintain a denture. We can help answer those questions at your visit.
